View Mount Rushmore America’s “Shrine of Democracy” in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. Stop at the Rushmore–Borglum Story, a museum dedicated to the sculptor of Mt. Rushmore, Gutzon Borglum and be sure to visit the National Presidential Wax Museum while in the city of Keystone.
The next day head East a little and explore aviation history at the Air & Space Museum at Ellsworth Air Force Base. Walk among the 28 aircraft and missiles on display and learn how mankind took the first tentative steps towards the stars. That afternoon enjoy a stroll around downtown Rapid City, the “City of Presidents”. Have your picture taken with any or all of the life–size, bronze statues of Presidents that adorn our city’s street corner. Don’t hesitate to stop in the many unique shops and antique malls between the corners! Then come back to the “Alex” for a wonderful dinner from our award winning restaurant.
