BACKGROUND OF THE STURGIS MOTORCYCLE RALLY

The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is one of the world’s largest and most well-known motorcycle events. The first rally was held on August 14th, 1938 with a race consisting of 9 participants. Then from 1939-1941, the rally did not take place because of gas rationing in support of the war efforts, however in 1942 the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally returned for good. Since then, the rally has formed to the great event that it is today.

WHEN IS THE STURGIS MOTORCYCLE RALLY?

While the dates vary from year to year, the 84th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally will be held from August 2-11, 2024. However, people also tend to come well before and after the rally to enjoy all the beauty that the Black Hills has to offer.
