Hotel Alex Johnson has various outlets that guests can enjoy, including Paddy O’Neills Irish Pub, Starbucks, the Alex Johnson Mercantile, and AJ’s Wicked Salon & Spa. Plus, the hotel also gives guests access to our rooftop bar, Vertex Sky Bar. Considering all Rapid City South Dakota hotels, we have it all.
Meeting Facilities and Ballrooms
Recent renovations have restored the classic fixtures in our largest room, Yesterday’s Ballroom, making it a distinct reflection of the time period in which it was built. In the second floor ballroom, which can hold up to 200 people, dark wooden shutters and dingy carpet have been replaced with tasseled drapes, new chandelier glass and a polished terrazzo dance floor, all under the four original murals depicting Black Hills scenes.
The Lincoln Room can hold up to 80 people. With its charming décor and cream-colored theme, the Lincoln Room is a beautiful reminder of the elegance displayed during its time period.
The Rushmore and Washington Rooms are available to fit a flexible guest list. They can be used as a venue for separate events, or they be combined to fit a larger number of guests. Holding up to 50 people apiece, these low-lit rooms are perfect for both small and large events.
